In March 2025, Southpointe Academy—a prestigious private school in Vancouver—became the first to open applications for K–12 admissions for the 2026–2027 academic year. This marks the early start of a new private school application season across Greater Vancouver!
To help families navigate the process with confidence, Indigo Education has carefully compiled a timeline of key application dates and milestones for private school admissions in the Greater Vancouver area for the 2026–2027 school year.
Public School Admission Timeline
1. Application & Registration – November 2025
Parents must register their children through the local school district’s centralized enrollment system starting in November 2025.
2. Admission Notification – April 2026
Admission offers will be issued around April 2026, confirming whether the child has been accepted.
3. Official Start Date – September 2026
Students will begin the new school year in September 2026.
Private School Admission Timeline
1. Application Submission – July 2025 onward
Traditionally, most private schools in Greater Vancouver open their application portals in early September. However, many are now opening much earlier. For example, Stratford Hall, Mulgrave, Collingwood, and Southpointe opened their applications as early as late June or early July 2024. This year, Southpointe opened applications as early as March 2025.
Note: As application periods move earlier, deadlines are also advancing—some as early as late October to early November 2025.
2. Entrance Exams & Interviews – October 2025 to January 2026
Once applications are submitted, schools will schedule entrance exams and family interviews between October 2025 and January 2026.
3. Admission Results Released – February 2026
Parents will receive admission decisions in February 2026.
4. Official Start Date – September 2026
Admitted students will begin school in September 2026.
